As of September 30, 2020, registration of a statutory right of way under s.218 of the Land Title Act on ALR lands will require proof of notification to the ALC.

ADVISORY

A notification of statutory right of way response from the ALC is not an authorization to conduct a use, construct works, remove soil, or place fill (including gravel) within the ALR.

If you require use, construction of works, removal of soil or placement of fill, an ALC Application or Notice of Intent may be required.

Notification of Statutory Right of Way

The Notification of Statutory Right of Way to the ALC can now be completed online through the ALC Portal

Users will need a Basic or Business BCeID account to submit SRW Notifications. If your office has multiple staff that submit SRW notifications and/or ALC Applications and Notices of Intent, we suggest you use a shared account so that all your files will be in one ALC Portal Inbox.

Register for a Basic or Business BCeID here: https://www.bceid.ca/

Before submitting the ALC’s Notification of Statutory Right of Way, ensure that you are ready to submit your application package to the Land Title Survey Authority of BC and all necessary documents have been electronically signed and finalized. Those documents will also be required for the notification to the ALC.

If you have any other questions or technical issues, please contact the ALC at ALC.Portal@gov.bc.ca.
