Denise Dowswell
Denise Dowswell is involved in a family run operation in Vanderhoof. The family runs a large
cow herd, has a backgrounding feedlot and produces forage and grain in the Nechako Valley. She is a third generation
rancher. She is a member of the Central Interior Feeders Association, the Fraser Nechako Bred Heifer as well as the
Sinkuit Mountain Cattlemen.
William Norton
Mr. Norton is a rancher in the Chilako Valley, west of Prince George. He is involved in feeder calf and forage production. He and his wife are developing and operating the Central Interior’s only four and half star rated agri-tourism accommodation facility on their Norton North Ranch. Mr. Norton is a Director of the Central Interior Feeder Calf Cooperative Association, Past President of District “C” Farmers Institutes and former Director of the Law Courts Education Society. He holds an M.A. in Sociology and has been adjunct instructor at the College of New Caledonia and Assistant Professor at the University of California, Chico. Mr. Norton retired as Northern Regional Director of Court Services Branch in 2002, having served 14 years in that position.
