The Commissioners — Kootenay Panel

Barry Minor, Vice-Chair

Barry Minor grew up on large beef cattle ranches in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Currently, he is the Owner and Operator of Minor Ranching Co. Ltd located in Skookumchuck, BC. Mr. Minor serves on the Rocky Mountain Forest Range Advisory and was a former member and President of Kootenay Livestock. In the community, he is a member with the Royal Canadian Legion and a member with the Area Planning Committee.

Carmen Purdy

Carmen Purdy is retired from the forest and mining industries where he worked in various management positions over 37 years. Carmen served as a commissioner on the Forest Resources Commission of BC and has been actively involved in wildlife and land use issues for the past 42 years. Mr. Purdy is a past president of the BC Wildlife Federation, a director of the Nature Trust of BC, the founding president of the Kootenay Wildlife Heritage Fund and is also past president of the BC Conservation Foundation. Mr. Purdy currently resides in Cranbrook.

Jerry Thibeault

Jerry Thibeault is the co-owner of the Thibeault Ranch and a Livestock Inspector with Ownership Identification Inc.. Mr. Thibeault was also a former Committee Chair with the Kootenay Livestock Association.
