The Proposal
The City of Abbotsford has applied to the Commission to exclude approximately 372 ha (920 acres) of land located within the ALR to facilitate new job creation and economic growth. The application involves 117 land registry parcels located in three main blocks. The largest area under application is generally described as being located north of the Abbotsford Airport between Mount Lehman, Marshall and Clearbrook Roads. A second block is located west of Mount Lehman Road between the Auto Mall and Vanderpol Eggs and the third block is located east of the University College of the Fraser Valley on the east side of Mackenzie Road.
