Fees

Landowners who make application to remove, subdivide or use land in the ALR for non-farm purposes must pay an application fee. See the Application Fee Schedule for applicable fees.

For applications that are submitted directly to the Agricultural Land Commission, the fee is payable to the Minister of Finance. For applications submitted directly to the local government, the fee is payable to the local government.

Application fees are non-refundable. However, if a local government does not authorize an application to proceed to the Commission, the portion of the fee payable to the Commission is refunded to the applicant by the local government.

In cases of hardship, there are provisions to waive application fees. Refer to the Commission's policy on Waiving of Application Fees.

The application fee is apportioned between the local government and the Commission. Local governments submit an Application Fee Quarterly Remittance Report to the Commission at the end of each calendar quarter.
