The Provincial Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) is an independent administrative tribunal dedicated to preserving agricultural land and encouraging farming in British Columbia.
On July 29, 2016, OIC 602/2016 included new definitions in the ALR Regulation for “agri-tourism” and “gathering for an event” on ALR land.
On July 8, 2016, OIC 508/2016 amended the process for exclusion applications initiated by local governments and the ALC. The amendments also included new regulations for tree planting.
On March 3, 2016, the Minister of Agriculture provided the ALC with expectations regarding the timelines associated with processing applications.
