Regional District and Municipal Changes:

The Fraser Valley Regional District was incorporated in 1995, while the Central Fraser Valley, Dewdney Allouette, and Fraser Cheam Regional Districts were eliminated in 1995 with adjustments to the following municipalities:

  • Central Fraser Valley
      The City of Abbotsford and unincorporated areas of the Regional District (Sumas Mountain) were amalgamated with the Fraser Valley Regional District.
  • Dewdney Allouette
      Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and a portion of Electoral Area "A" (Pitt Folder) were amalgamated with the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
      The District of Mission and other unincorporated portions of DARD (except Pitt Folder) were amalgamated with the Fraser Valley Regional District.
  • Fraser Cheam
      All of the Fraser Cheam Regional District was included in the Fraser Valley Regional District.

Note: The statistics relating to the above noted municipal changes have not been reflected in this edition of the "Annual Statistics" unless otherwise noted.
