Jim Johnson
Jim Johnson has resided in the North Okanagan for the past 35 years. He is active in the community working on various projects. Jim served 6 years as the Chair and Alternate Director of Electoral Area E. He was elected as Regional Director for Electoral Area E in the early 90s. Jim has been employed in the forest industry for the past 30 plus years. For the past 15 years he has been employed by Bell Pole- Stella Jones as a Pole Buyer. He works with other forest licensees, woodlot owners, small business programs and private land owners to meet the fibre needs of his employer.
Bert Miles
Bert Miles is the former General Manager of Burnaby Lake Greenhouses based in Surrey where he worked for 28 years. The operation employed 270 full-time non-seasonal employees, producing and distributing a full range of floriculture products. Mr. Miles has extensive senior management experience in farming and post-farm gate sectors. As a Certified Management Accountant and past provincial president, he has a range of experience in accounting and administration. He served the Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia for four years before becoming Chair in May 2006. Before taking on the role of Chair, Mr. Miles was the Foundation's Treasurer. He also chaired the Focus on the Future steering committee. Mr. Miles has served the Surrey Metro Savings Credit Union, now Coast Capital Savings, as both executive member and Chair and has served as an executive member of Credit Union Central of BC.
